What can you make with a few wires and a few lines of code?
In the Arduino Robotics & Physical Computing Academy, students work with Coach Lesley to turn simple electronic components into working inventions. They’ll start by wiring a circuit and programming an LED, then use buttons, sensors, and motors to build projects that respond to an input.
What students will do
- Build circuits on a breadboard using LEDs, resistors, and jumper wires.
- Write and edit Arduino code to control what their circuits do.
- Use a button or sensor to trigger a light or make a motor move.
- Troubleshoot a project by checking the wiring and testing one change at a time.
- Put their skills together in a project they can demonstrate and explain.
Each class starts with a guided build. Once students get it working, Coach Lesley gives them a challenge that asks them to change the circuit, the code, or both. Can they make a light react to a sensor? Can they change how far a motor moves? They’ll test their ideas and see what happens.
