Build It! — The Creator’s Workshop

A Faith-Infused LEGO® STEM Learning Experience for Ages 6–10

3 Days a Week • Hands-On STEM • 18 Weeks of Discovery

“Created to Create.” — Ephesians 2:10

Imagine a school day your child can’t wait to run into.

At Edison Kids, learning comes alive through faith, creativity, engineering, and play.
In the Build It! Learning Lab, your child doesn’t sit and memorize…
they build, test, discover, and create.

Every lesson uses LEGO® bricks to unlock deeper understanding — in STEM, writing, math, and faith.

Kids learn to think like engineers.
They learn Scripture through hands-on building.
They learn confidence through creation.
And they learn who God designed them to be.

What Makes the Build It! Lab Different
✔️ Faith-Rooted Learning

Start each day with Scripture + a quick LEGO® devotional build.

✔️ True STEM Education

Hands-on science and engineering using towers, bridges, forces, motion, gears, simple machines, energy, and structural design.

✔️ LEGO® Literacy + Math

Students build sentences, patterns, stories, graphs, and calculations with bricks.

✔️ Digital Skills for the Future

Kids learn real computer-aided design (CAD) using Studio 2.0 to recreate and refine their builds.

✔️ Small Class Size

Limited to 12 students to protect personalized learning.

The Daily Rhythm That Makes Learning Stick

Time Block What Kids Do
9:00–9:30 Build It Bible Challenge Scripture + LEGO devotional build (crosses, scenes, symbols, tools).
9:30–10:30 Build It STEM Lab Engineering + experiments (bridges, ramps, gears, towers, motion, energy).
10:30–10:45 Snack + Social Build Community, collaboration, play.
10:45–11:30 Build It Word Lab LEGO Word Bricks to build grammar, sentences, stories, and vocabulary.
11:30–12:15 Build It Math Builders Measurement, data, graphing, geometry, patterns — all with LEGO.
12:15–1:00 Build It CAD + Reflection Digital design + journaling to reflect on growth, learning, and faith.

The 18-Week Learning Journey

Your child will move through three themed units that build confidence, creativity, and engineering mastery.

🔵 UNIT 1 — CREATE IT! (Weeks 1–6)

Theme: God as Creator • Foundations • Patterns • Design Thinking

Kids discover that God is the Master Creator and that they are created to create.
They explore:

  • Strong Structures
  • Foundations and stability
  • Patterns in creation
  • Story building
  • The Engineering Design Process
  • Beginning CAD modeling
  • Observation, testing, and reflections

This unit builds confidence and introduces the core skills of engineering — hands, heart, and mind working together.

🟡 UNIT 2 — EXPLORE IT! (Weeks 7–12)

Theme: Motion • Forces • Energy • God’s Order

Students explore the world God made by examining how things move, balance, and work.

They’ll learn:

  • Forces, speed, and motion
  • Building and testing bridges
  • Weight, balance, and measurement
  • Nature’s patterns and symmetry
  • How gears, pulleys, and levers work
  • Collecting scientific data + graphing
  • CAD diagrams labeled like real engineers

This is the “real science” unit — hands-on physics with a faith foundation.

🔴 UNIT 3 — INVENT IT! (Weeks 13–18)

Theme: Innovation • Engineering • Purpose • Problem-Solving

Your child becomes a young inventor, designing and refining builds that solve real problems.

They will explore:

  • Simple Machines: levers, wheels, pulleys
  • Mechanical movement and linkages
  • Energy and power experiments
  • Structural engineering and load testing
  • Real-world problem-solving challenges
  • Engineering data analysis
  • Full CAD modeling and portfolio building

This unit culminates in an Inventor Expo where each child demonstrates what they created — not to impress, but to celebrate the gifts God gave them.

✝️ Faith + STEM = A Child Confident in Their Calling

Every part of this program reinforces one truth:

Your child was created with purpose.
God designed them with creativity, logic, imagination, and the ability to build beautiful things.

In Build It!, students learn to use their gifts boldly and joyfully — as worship.

“Let your light shine before others.” — Matthew 5:16
