Whether you’re a first-time builder or a seasoned tinkerer, the Edison Robotics League is your arena to explore, invent, and rise to the challenge. Designed for youth ages 8–18, this is more than a competition—it’s a launchpad for future engineers, bold thinkers, and fearless creators. Come build something incredible… and maybe even take home the championship.
About the League
The Edison Robotics League (ERL) is a competitive robotics program designed for students ages 8–18. Hosted by Edison Kids Inc., the league combines hands-on engineering with exciting head-to-head battles in a safe, supportive environment. We use the custom battle-ready bots from Team Witch Doctor, giving students a real taste of the combat robotics world—without needing to design from scratch.
Who Can Join
Students ages 8 – 18 years old
No experience needed – just enthusiasm and a willingness to learn!
Compete as a solo builder or team up with siblings or co-op friends.
How It Works
Monthly Meets
Battle events once a month (September – May), attend all or just one.
STEM Enrichment
Learn engineering principles through design tweaks and repair.
Earn Points
Win matches, complete challenges, and climb the leaderboard.
Season Finale
Top scorers advance to the EDISON Robotics League Finals in June.
League Divisions
We divide the league into three awesome age groups, so everyone gets to battle bots with kids their own size and skill level. Whether you’re getting started or ready to dominate the arena, there’s a division with your name on it!

Combat Robotics Workshops
LEARN. BUILD. COMPETE. REPEAT.
Before you step into the arena, students can sharpen their skills through our COMBAT ROBOTICS WORKSHOPS – hands-on training designed to equip youth with real-world engineering knowledge and creative problem-solving experience.
What Students Will Learn:
Mechanical Assembly: How to build and maintain a combat-ready robot using professional-grade kids.
Battle Tactics: Strategy, design adaptations, and field awareness.
Engineering Principles: Gears, torque, weight distribution, and materials testing.
Creative Upgrades: Custom modifications, 3D-printed add-ons, and aesthetic flair.
Team Collaboration: Working in pairs or small teams to troubleshoot and improve builds.
Who It’s For:
Ages 8-18
Options for beginners and returning competitors
Ideal for homeschoolers, or curious builders who want a head start.
Why It Matters:
These workshops foster the engineering mindset – not just how to build a robot, but how to think like an innovator. Students leave with more than just parts – they leave with a purpose.
