Invent It! — The Innovator’s Lab

A Faith-Fueled STEM + Innovation Experience for Ages 9–14

3 Days a Week • Create · Engineer · Invent • 18 Weeks of Purpose

“Faith without works is dead.” — James 2:26

✨ Imagine a learning environment that turns ideas into inventions.

At Edison Kids, students don’t just study science — they live it.
In the Invent It! Learning Lab, faith and innovation collide through engineering, design, coding, and creativity.

Every lesson challenges students to think critically, build boldly, and create solutions with purpose.
They’re not just learning how the world works — they’re discovering how God designed them to make it better.

Students learn to think like inventors.
They build confidence through creation.
And they put faith into action — one project at a time.

What Makes the Invent It! Learning Lab Different

✔️ Faith-Driven Innovation
Each day begins with a devotional that connects Scripture to science, engineering, and purpose.

✔️ STEM that Comes Alive
From circuits and coding to motion, magnetism, and robotics — students explore the real science behind God’s creation.

✔️ Writing with Purpose
Word Labs help students communicate like engineers and entrepreneurs through journals, reflections, and presentations.

✔️ Math in Motion
Applied math is built into every lab — students graph, measure, calculate, and test their ideas like real scientists.

✔️ Code, Create, and Automate
Students learn programming logic through Scratch and micro:bit, bringing inventions to life with real code.

✔️ Small Class Size, Big Impact
Limited to 12 students to ensure deep learning and personal growth.

The Daily Rhythm That Sparks Innovation

Time Block What Students Do
9:00–9:30 Morning Devotional Scripture + discussion + quick STEM object lesson connecting faith to the week’s theme.
9:30–10:45 Main Lab Hands-on engineering, science, or creative build challenge for the day.
10:45–11:00 Snack + Collaboration Relaxed reflection and peer feedback time.
11:00–11:45 Word Lab Writing and communication — technical journaling, creative writing, or entrepreneurial pitches.
11:45–12:30 Math Lab Real-world, applied math through measurement, data collection, and analysis.
12:30–1:00 Code Lab Students apply coding or digital design to enhance or automate their projects.

The 18-Week Journey of Discovery

Your student will journey through three interconnected units that build creativity, engineering mastery, and purpose.

🔵 UNIT 1 — CREATE IT! (Weeks 1–6)

Theme: God as Creator · Light · Design Thinking · Discovery

Students begin with imagination and design — exploring God’s creativity in light, art, and nature.

They’ll learn:

  • Foundations of energy and illumination

  • How light, color, and pattern reflect God’s order

  • Basic circuits and coding light sequences

  • Creative expression through STEM + art

  • How to see faith as the spark behind innovation

This unit builds confidence and curiosity — reminding students that we are creative because He is the Creator.

🟡 UNIT 2 — ENGINEER IT! (Weeks 7–12)

Theme: God as Designer · Forces · Motion · Energy

Students become true engineers, applying the Engineering Design Process to solve hands-on STEM challenges.

They’ll explore:

  • Motion, magnetism, and flight

  • Energy transfer and transformation

  • Structural engineering and balance

  • Sound, vibration, and communication

  • Scientific data collection + graphing

  • Problem-solving through testing and redesign

Faith Connection: God’s wisdom brings order, balance, and motion to the world — and to our lives.

🔴 UNIT 3 — INVENT IT! (Weeks 13–18)

Theme: God as Innovator · Purpose · Impact · Faith in Action

The final unit transforms everything they’ve learned into real-world innovation.

They’ll:

  • Design circuits and automation systems

  • Build robotic prototypes

  • Apply coding to sensors and feedback loops

  • Use renewable energy concepts

  • Plan and present original inventions

  • Create portfolios and digital models

It all culminates in the Inventor Expo, where students share their faith-driven projects — inventions that shine God’s light and serve others.

✝️ Faith + STEM = Innovation with Purpose

Every experiment, every build, and every code line points to one truth:

We are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works.

In Invent It!, students learn to apply their creativity, logic, and faith to solve problems — discovering the joy of being innovators for God’s glory.

“Let your light shine before others.” — Matthew 5:16
